Strengthening the IT Backbone for a Next-Gen EV Innovator
Our client is focused on delivering next-generation electric vehicles. With operational hubs across California, the company is building a future-forward mobility platform that combines automotive excellence with advanced digital intelligence.
As the client scaled U.S. operations to support the launch of its advanced electric vehicle platform, ensuring a secure and resilient network environment became a critical priority.
While foundational security controls were in place, IT leadership required a comprehensive, third-party assessment to validate configurations, identify risks, and ensure the network could securely support rapid growth, innovation, and future expansion.
Key objectives included:
VectorUSA was engaged to conduct a structured network and firewall security assessment designed to evaluate the client’s existing environment and establish a clear path forward.
Recognizing the importance of proactive risk identification and visibility, VectorUSA delivered a fixed-price, four-phase engagement to validate security best practices, uncover gaps, and provide actionable remediation guidance aligned with this automotive company’s business objectives.
VectorUSA’s client engagement was structured in four phases, each building on the last to provide a complete picture of the organization’s network security posture.
The team dove deep into Fortinet firewalls, reviewing configurations, routing, IPSEC tunnels, and up to 20 active policies per device. Beyond simply cataloging settings, the team evaluated UTM and next-generation firewall features, identified unused capabilities, and assessed WAN and Internet-facing security posture to uncover hidden vulnerabilities.
With a clear understanding of the firewall landscape, phase 2 expanded the focus to Cisco and Meraki devices. VectorUSA analyzed network architecture, performance, and resiliency, and audited logical and physical topologies to identify gaps or outdated documentation. External and internal penetration testing across multiple IPs provided independent validation of the network’s security, offering leadership confidence in the findings.
Armed with a detailed view of the organization’s environment, phase 3 translated insight into action. VectorUSA delivered a 20-page strategic plan outlining prioritized improvements across administrative access, licensing, configuration alignment, and system availability.
The plan included a $10,000 framework for tactical remediation, providing a clear path to strengthen the organization’s network without disrupting operations.
Finally, phase 4 brought all the work together. VectorUSA hosted a formal session with IT and security leadership to walk through findings, review recommendations, and deliver all supporting documentation and network diagrams. This ensured the client had both the insight and resources to execute improvements immediately and plan for future growth.
Through this structured, hands-on approach, VectorUSA combined technical rigor with strategic guidance, helping turn a complex, multi-location network assessment into a clear, actionable roadmap for secure, scalable operations.
The network security assessment provided critical insight into the state of the organization's IT environment and a clear plan for strengthening security across locations.
By validating existing controls and identifying areas for improvement, the engagement reduced risk, improved operational clarity, and established a secure, scalable foundation to support ongoing growth and innovation.
The results also positioned the client for future collaboration and ongoing managed services as its technology footprint continues to evolve.
This project reflects VectorUSA’s commitment to delivering tailored cybersecurity solutions that align technical rigor with real-world business needs.
VectorUSA's blend of deep cybersecurity expertise, familiarity with Fortinet and Cisco platforms, and proven project management skills made us the ideal partner for this fast-moving, high-visibility environment.
