Challenge

A major Southern California city needed to improve safety across its public parking structures after growing concerns around vandalism, theft, and personal safety. The city’s parking management partner worked with our team to strengthen parking lot security through a phased safety enhancement plan.

The project focused on upgrading the existing security infrastructure with improved parking lot surveillance, video monitoring, and design recommendations built around deterrence, visibility, and faster incident response. The goal was to help create a safer environment for residents and visitors while giving the city and its parking management team better tools to identify issues, support investigations, and improve overall site security..

Solution

Our Approach VectorUSA partnered closely with the city and its parking management entity, drawing on deep expertise in parking and security solutions to build a comprehensive enhancement plan:

  1. Advanced Surveillance Systems — State-of-the-art CCTV cameras were installed throughout the parking structures to improve visibility, monitoring, and incident response. The system included strategically placed parking lot security cameras with real-time video surveillance, recording capabilities, license plate recognition, and facial recognition technology to help monitor critical areas, deter criminal activity, and support investigations when incidents occurred.
  2. Enhanced Lighting — Lighting systems were upgraded throughout the parking structures, including parking areas, walkways, and key access points. Improved parking garage lighting increased visibility, helped reduce safety concerns, and supported a more secure environment for drivers and pedestrians.
  3. Emergency Call Stations — Emergency call stations were installed throughout the parking facilities to give visitors a direct way to contact security personnel during urgent situations. These stations helped improve response times and added another layer of visible safety support.
  4. Access Control Systems — Modern access controls regulating entry and exit so only authorized vehicles and individuals could reach facilities, telephones, and network infrastructure.
  5. Public Awareness Campaigns — Advanced parking access control systems were introduced to better regulate entry and exit points. These controls helped ensure that only authorized vehicles and personnel could access restricted areas, including facilities, telephones, and network switches.

Benefits

The deployment deterred criminal activity and helped law enforcement quickly identify and apprehend suspects. It exceeded the city's expectations and set a new benchmark for safety across its parking facilities — reinforcing the city's commitment to public safety and boosting confidence in its public spaces.
