When a major entertainment company upgraded their Southern California data center, selecting the telephony and network integrator that could handle the project was a critical choice.

"The broadcast center is the core of our business. The upgrade had to go smoothly and we had to be up and running right away," said the Director of Information Technology at the company. "There was no room for error."

Vector began by helping the company determine the network design and budget, enabling management to distribute an RFP that contained the necessary information to receive accurate bids.

The company selected Vector Resources after reviewing proposals from five integrators. "We chose Vector based on the quality of their design and ability to complete the project within our budget and timeframe," noted the IT Director.

Solution Overview
Vector was charged with installing the company's entire infrastructure and providing connectivity for the corporate data center. The entire project required twenty technicians on site for six weeks including three major weekend cutovers.

Vector installed more than 100,000 plus feet of CAT 6 cable and 3,600 CAT6 connections.

A major aspect of this project involved the coordination of the General Contractor, Vector Electricians and Field Personnel, and Product Vendors to ensure project timelines were followed. Within the time frame provided by the company, Vector's project management exceeded expectations on the overall coordination of the project.

Technical Detail
Vector completed three major cutovers over the six weeks. The complete Beldon / Panduit solution was conducted in a raised floor environment. There were 3,600 CAT 6 connections and 4,000 fiber connections.

Results
In addition to completing the project on time and on budget, Vector helped the company reduce network management time. The organized solution allowed the company's IT team to easily and independently manage moves, adds, and changes. The solution also allowed for ease of troubleshooting and better management of cable location.
