Specializing in network consulting and VoIP,
Vector's the Big Man on Campus.
The problem:
With nearly 300 acres of land under its control, this Southern-California university is a big fish in an ever-increasing pond. As competition for research dollars and academic prestige takes place on an increasingly global scale, their communication infrastructure must be constantly positioned at the cutting edge of technological developments. If the university is slow to adapt to new innovations because of outdated equipment or technology, it could lose its position as one of the world's premier research universities.
The solution:
In addition to serving as one of the school's select on-campus networking contractors, Vector Resources is the sole cabling vendor for two of their world-class research institutes: the Information Sciences Institute and the Institute for Creative Technologies. These two research laboratories rely on Vector's expertise in network design to break new ground in high-speed computing and high-performance virtual reality. At ICT, Vector also provides support for the facility's VoIP system, giving the research scientists the latest in communication technology. As the sole cabling vendor at the two sites, Vector is responsible for supporting all structured cabling requests from the research centers, working with project staff to evaluate network performance and recommending future actions for improvement.
The future:
As the university continues to forge new frontiers in academic research, Vector Resources stands as a strong partner, providing key elements of these groundbreaking information systems.
